6H of Fuji: a result that does not meet expectations

During the past weekend, September 13rd-15th, the penultimate round of the FIA ??WEC championship was held on the Fuji circuit (Japan).
In qualifying, Daniel and his teammates Ian James and Alex Riberas managed to conquer the eighth position on the starting grid, also due to the 25kg weight handicap they had on the Aston Martin Vantage after the victory in Austin and the second place in Sao Paolo.
At the start of the 6H race, on Sunday 15th, the Hearth of Racing team started very well, managing to recover several positions and reaching third place.
However, the entry of the VSC (Virtual Safety Car) revolutionized the rankings, penalizing the strategy of some teams (including Mancinelli’s) and favoring others (such as the #54 and #92 cars that finished in first and second position).
Alex Riberas ended up finishing the race in ninth place, a result that does not reflect the potential that the team had.
The positive aspect of the weekend is that the Hearth of Racing team managed to recover precious points in the championship, bringing it to 7 points from the Porsche #91 and 2 from the BMW #31.
“I thank the entire Heart of Racing team and my teammates Ian and Alex for giving 110% throughout the race.” – Daniel said – “Unfortunately luck was not on our side this time. Sometimes races are like that… now the goal is to conquer the second position in the championship in the 8H of Bahrain on October 31st”.
