The weekend just spent on the Vallelunga circuit was marked by bad luck for Daniel and his teammates.
Despite the more difficult qualifying than expected, the Easy Race team still managed to conquer the eighth position on the starting grid, thus starting from the 4th row.
First to take to the track driving the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo was Max Hofer, followed by Marco Greco and finally by Mancinelli.
An excellent first part of the race for the Easy Race team until during the last stint, while Daniel was in 4th position, the Lamborghini – in an attempt to make an impossible overtaking – hit the rear wheel of the Ferrari causing a puncture and forcing Mancinelli to a further pit stop.
The 10″ penalty inflicted on Lamborghini was worthless and Mancinelli had to settle for 10th position.
“I’m really saddened by what happened.” – Daniel said – “I was catching up on the BMW in front of me and we could aspire to the podium. Too bad because it was a good weekend, we were competitive and in the race we showed an excellent pace. I thank the Easy Race team for the opportunity and the trust he gave me. ”
Daniel will be back on track next weekend in Long Beach, California, together with teammate Colin Brown and the Scuderia Corse team.
The next stage of the Italian GT Championship is instead at Mugello, next 8-10 October, for the Sprint race with the Audi Sport Italia team.
