The weekend just spent on the Dubai circuit, where the 24H of Dubai was held, saw the Mercedes Benz AMG GT3 Evo #27 of the Heart of Racing by SPS team finish the race in an excellent fifth position.
A result that is not at all obvious given the high number of cars that took part in this competition.
At the start of the race, on Saturday at 1.00pm local time (10.00am Italian time), Daniel together with his teammates Gray Newell, Pierre Kleinubing and Darren Turner immediately maintained an excellent race pace, managing to climb up to second position.
During the night, around 04:00, after almost 14 hours of racing, due to a mechanical problem the Mercedes #27 had to stop for a prolonged pit stop.
The technicians of the Heart of Racing by SPS team worked tirelessly, managing to resolve the fault and allowing the drivers to continue the race.
However, this unexpected stop cost the team 3 positions and they could only finish the race in fifth position.
A fact worth highlighting is that the team car was the first Mercedes to cross the finish line.
“I thank the Heart of Racing by SPS team for all the effort they put into repairing the car and for the excellent strategy demonstrated over the weekend.” – Daniel said – “Without the technical problem we had during the night we would certainly have achieved the podium. I also thank my teammates Gray Newell, Pierre Kleinubing and Darren Turner who were formidable. We are excited for the season that is about to begin.”
