The Porsche Suisse Cup final, which took place last weekend at the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Misano, was not at all favorable for the Amag First Rennsport team.
After the amazing pole position obtained by Daniel in qualifying on Friday, di Bona, who was the first to drive the Porsche Cayman GT4, suffered a contact from another opponent at turn 8 of the first lap. The damage to the car, although not serious, forced the driver to an unexpected pit stop, making him lose several positions.
At the driver change, Mancinelli returned to the track in tenth position and thanks to a furious comeback he moved to fifth place.
After about 40 minutes of racing, however, the #212 car hit Daniel’s Porsche Cayman GT4 #224 front right wheel in the Carro curve causing the convergence arm to break and forcing the driver to make an early pit stop.
The mechanics of the Amag First Rennsport team did an excellent job as always, managing to repair the car in just 10 minutes.
Arrigosi, back on track to finish the last hour of the race, managed to keep a good pace, closing the race in seventh position.
“Unfortunately the two contacts caused us a delay for the repair of the car.” – Daniel said – “It’s a pity because the start from my Pole position obtained in qualifying presaged a good race. We had the speed to do it but we lacked a little more luck.
We will definitely try again next year!”
