Last weekend in California on the Long Beach circuit was very positive for Daniel and Tr3 racing team.
Although he had never dealt with this circuit, the italian pilot has obtained important points thanks to a solid fourth place.
The practice sessions have been very significant to learn the track and to be able to close the ranking in P7.
The qualifications, which took place Saturday morning at 9:30 am, have been demanding: the rain during the Friday night, in fact, made the track very tricky, especially in the last stretch before the finish line where the track struggled to dry out but Daniel, thanks to a good lap, still managed to get the fourth position.
In the race a good start allowed Mancinelli to keep the fourth place and to attack the rider in third place at the first curve. A slight contact between the first 2 pilots, Parente and Long, however, did not allow him to carry out the attack on Sellers.
After 6 minutes of the race of 50 a twist happened: a city water pipe breaks and a water river crosses the rectilinear between curves 8 and 9, forcing the race direction to call the safety car and to suspend the race.
Thanks to the intervention of the technical, the problem was quickly resolved and the race resumed under the safety car.
The last minutes of the race saw Daniel finish the race in fourth position in the wake of Sellers.
“It was a nice weekend” – Daniel said – “Our Ferrari 488 GT3, prepared by Tr3 racing team, has performed well. On this circuit the McLaren and Porsche had a little bit more. It was still nice to end up in the top positions and bringing home important points for the championship. Now we are waiting for the next race at the Virginia International Raceway next 29th to 30th of April where I will share the cockpit with another pilot doing the race of the Sprint X-series of the same league.”
