The weekend just ended at the Mugello circuit for the fourth round of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship saw the Easy Race team win great points for the championship standings.
During Q1, Fontana managed to snatch a good 7th place, while during the Q2 Daniel, due to a slower driver during his fastest lap, had to “settle” for the third position.
At the start of race 1, Saturday 14, Fontana was able to have a good race pace and, despite the penalty of 15 seconds, the Easy Race team closed the race in third position.
At the start of race 2, Sunday, Mancinelli, already during the first lap, managed to overcome the Lamborghini #63 of Zampieri taking the second place.
Thanks to his excellent pace, Daniel has repeatedly tried to overcome the Ferrari #27 of Gai but it’s only on the fourth lap that he succeeded to launch the decisive attack.
The Italian driver delivered the car to his team-mate in first position with an advantage of 8 seconds and registered the fastest lap of the race in 1’49 “8.
Fontana, who came back to the track in second position behind Fisichella because of the penalty of 20 seconds, managed to keep a good pace but a puncture to the tire 6 minutes from the end forced him to a pit stop and to finish race 2 in ninth position.
“It was a great performance weekend.” – Daniel said – “It’s a pity because we could have been leading the championship. Anyway the fight is still open. I thank the Easy Race team because the Ferrari 488 GT3 was perfect. Thanks also to all the sponsors for the support.”
A wish for good holidays to everyone and we’ll come back for the next round of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship on the Vallelunga circuit on September 8-9.
